As comfortable performing pop tunes as they are intricate classical compositions, Gallus Brass Quintet is a dynamic ensemble of Glasgow-based freelance musicians. Gallus was formed in the Autumn of 2021 as they were completing their post graduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has since gone on to perform in venues across Glasgow, Scotland and Europe.
Regardless of venue or genre, Gallus Brass Quintet strive to create high quality performances.
Repertoire
We have a wide variety of repertoire available. Recent performances have included standard brass quintet repertoire (Crespo’s Suite Americana, Ewald’s Quintet No. 3, Tilson Thomas’s Street Song, Kamen’s Quintet), classical repertoire (Die Bankelsangerlieder, Dukas’s Fanfare from La Peri, Debussy’s the Girl with the Flaxen hair), musical theatre/opera/film arrangements (Moments for Morricone, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Rossini’s William Tell Overture), as well as a variety of popular music, including arrangements of Christmas carols. Our full repertoire list is available upon request, and we are always learning new music.
